Hey there everyone!
We're going to be opening up another part of the game for submissions! This time we will be opening up items and equipment, hooray! Now, this is going to be very similar to the Event Submissions that are currently open, but quite a bit simpler. The formatting will be almost the same, more on that later though. First we need to be very transparent on how we plan for combat to work in the back end! And to be quite frank, it's very simple. We will be using the six primary attributes (seen in our alpha release of the game) and deriving a number of statistics from them, being Attack Value, Magic Attack Value, Defense Value, Accuracy, Evasion, Health, and Capacity. Largely these statistics can and will be modified by the items that you will submit! The calculations (subject to change) are as follows:
Combat Statistics
Note that all variables used in these formulas are subject to constant scalars.
Now that we have that out of the way, we should define what makes an item and makes a piece of equipment. An item is anything around the world that is not armour, weaponry, or accessories. This means that consumables and other miscellaneous things fall under this category. A piece of equipment is armor, accessories, or weaponry, such as platemail, shields, swords, axes, polearms, rings, necklaces, you get the idea.
Format
Now, we do want these submissions formatted cleanly and neatly, so before you submit, please organize your submissions into the following format:
The ITEM tag means that the following body represents an item.
The EQUIPMENT tag means the following body represents equipment.
NAME means exactly that, put your item name there.
WEIGHT is how much the item should weigh. Simply insert an integer there, as we will be using pounds.
POWER is the 'level' of the item, as explained below:
Items and Equipment are separated into four categories, based on their level of magical strength:
MUNDANE: These items are things you can envision in everyday life. Food, nonmagical equipment, etc. All things that are not magical should be placed here unless there is quite a good reason to classify it otherwise. Good examples are the various foodstuffs suggested around these forums.
TRINKET: These items have an echo of magical power, and as such bestow small enhancements and/or benefits to their bearer. A good example of this is the Ring of the Growling Stomach I created as a reward for my Quest submission in this thread.
WONDROUS: This is where items have some real potency. Items on this level can adjust stats significantly or bestow a unique benefit on their bearer. When submitting an item of this level, give some thought into how you want the player to use it. A good example of this item would be a belt that bestows great strength to the wearer.
ARTIFACT: This is the epitome of enchanted items. Anything in this category is one of a kind and should bestow something great upon the bearer. Often however, these items take something from the wearer to 'power' their boon. Remember, people, in this world adipose and gluttony fuel magic!
These categories are subject to change upon review, and may receive subcategories should it be deemed necessary.
Equipment is also separated into a number of SLOTS, which represent where the player will wear the equipment, or the lack of wearing it. The slots that are currently available and a few examples of them are:
HEAD: Helmets, scarves, bandanas
BODY: Platemail, Padded Armour
ARMS: Gloves, Gauntlets
FEET: Shoes, Boots
ACCESSORY (2): Rings, Necklaces, Belts
WEAPON: Swords, Daggers
TWOHANDED: Axes, Polearms -- A two handed-weapon is a weapon that cannot be used with a shield. If you are making a two-handed weapon, please specify TWOHANDED instead of WEAPON as its SLOT.
SHIELD: Buckler, Tower Shield
The BODY is an area for you to describe your item, as well as implement the tools described in the Event Submission Thread to make your item feasible. Primarily this would make use of the modifying tools, but some items may require certain stats of the bearer before they can function. If you're unsure on how to use the body of this format, take a look on how quests are formatted in the linked thread, it's quite similar.
Example
NOTE: A number of things in the above example are PURPOSEFULLY incorrect. Currently we do not have the capacity to modify statistics by a percentage, nor do we have the mFatgain() nor the mDigestion() modifiers. This is merely to illustrate the proper format to submit items/equipment.
Spreadsheets with current items can be found here
Wrapping it Up
Finally, never for get to review! Make sure your syntax is properly written, your grammar is spot on, and all your content is in accordance with the Bane of Gluttony Rules and Guidelines. After that, PM me the submission with the [Item/Equipment Submission] tag, followed by the title of your submission.
I will send you a response to confirm that I received your entry. It will then go through our review process and in a few days I should respond to your PM again either to inform you that you are in or to suggest a few modifications to your entry to make sure it is up to standard. If you want to send another submission, please send it in another PM, titled appropriately, so that we can keep things organized. For more information on what makes a good entry, please head to our Bane of Gluttony Rules and Guidelines.
Happy hunting!

Example
Equipment("Fang of the Bloated Shark", 1, Wondrous, Accessory)
{"This fang is a discarded shark tooth, which is connected to a rather simple twine necklace. However, when worn, the fang reveals its power. The bearer of this magical item finds that they fill up much more quickly, but that the food they eat adds to their bulk much more effectively. Like the beast this fang was discarded from, the bearer is also afflicted with a curse of voracity, causing them to consume more and more as they grow larger and larger, while their stomach churns the food at greater and greater speeds. [mCapacity(-25%)][mFatGain(+25%)][mDigestion(+25%)]"}
