I'm going to assume the vast majority of people here are familiar with Noone's Fatty RPG. If you're not here's a link for you to try it out.
You can also download the source code if you want to mod it.
Right now Noone's RPG is the best weight gain RPG out there which is... Bad.
The game itself if deeply flawed and incomplete. The content is shallow, the plot lacks depth, the combat isn't balanced, and the weight gain system is kind of messed up.
I did enjoy playing the game but it was way more for fap material than anything that left an impact. I'm just going to post this critique here so people get a feel of what
Noone did wrong and prevent these mistakes in the future.
STORY
The game's story is nearly non-existent. Crops are fertile for no reason and people are fat, that's all.
There's a couple of other things going on in different sections of the game but nothing connects.
The huge problem with the story being sub-par is that it ruins immersion and makes the game less memorable.
GAMEPLAY
The most criticized aspect of the game is the "Devour" option that pops up in battle. It's notoriously broken since as long as you pass a stomach and strength check you win any fight instantly.
I say any but many enemies never had the devour function implemented. Krishonk on the other hand had it where you could only devour enemies you already defeated which made the gameplay more balanced.
There's also no real reason to play a mage. The mage isn't any more powerful than a full warrior build and the lack of strength means that as you get fatter your mobility gets hugely impaired.
You might think "Well of course! If you're that fat getting around should be hard!" I hear you, really. But if you don't have the muscle to sustain the fat then you'll end up resting with EVERY STEP.
It might be realistic but it completely fucks the flow of gameplay and makes it tedious.
You'd at least think you'd have spells to hasten digestion or increase your stomach capacity until the end of the battle. Nope.
FATNESS
You'd think the fatness would be the best part since the entire game centers around it. But it's actually very skewed as far as numbers go.
The game calculates a couple of different numbers at once. You'd have to play for yourself but being three hundred pounds is considered "chubby."
The math is all wrong. Not to mention a lot of the physical descriptions are inaccurate for the different levels of obesity.
The part I hated the most was the lack of immobility. Personally I think they should have set it up where if your fatness much, much higher than your strength you inevitably become immobile and have to wait for a while until you've lost enough fat to walk again. I was also kind of hoping for an ending to the game. Preferably an ending that ties into to weight gain.
CONCLUSION
I might post more on the subject if I remember more points to make. But overall it's clearly not finished. I'm guessing maybe life stuff got in the way but he explicitly said 0.6 was the final update.
This isn't to say it's totally bad. It was a fun play the first few times. But it got stale pretty quickly. I've probably seen every line of dialogue in the whole game.
MODDING
I don't really have the time to make a mod since I'm making a video game of my own. (Non-fetish, I intend to sell it)
But if you guys want a crack at it the link for the source code is on the top of this page. I'm hoping somebody will take interest in this. If not I may post the source code to weightgaming.com and see if anybody bites.
It's not a bad engine, it just need tweaking.
