People who actually have a background in graphic design/ergonomics, whether that be from school or prior experience. This does not include thinking you know what you're doing just because. Your input is still welcome, though. It just won't have the same weight as that from people that can justify what they are doing with scientific principles. Lacking a proper designer, let the most apt person fill their place.

I made sprites for a project I was working on in college. I could do spite art if you want but they'd look like something from the SNES era.

The plan at the moment is to have actual portraits for enemies and NPCs.

Maybe the best way to do it would be to get everyone who's interested in this to post up a few drawings, and then decide who to go with.

Unless anyone can sufficiently match her style, it's unlikely we will be accepting art for anything beyond small icons and such.

Please don't get me wrong here, as I'm just wondering here... Will she be able to do all of the art on her own? It seems like a massive amount of mob/npc portraits, and a lot of art of many different types. It's just a lot of individual pieces. It seems like quite a mouthful.

It is, but it's not like everything has to be done by the same time. The art will come as it comes whenever she has time to spare. If assets are missing, it's easy to insert a placeholder image.

Ah yes, of course not. Another thing to note is, that if she starts now/soon, requests for artwork will come in smaller bits as the game expands and progresses.

Ah yes, of course not. Another thing to note is, that if she starts now/soon, requests for artwork will come in smaller bits as the game expands and progresses. Also, as Kolo said before, she will not be the only artist. If any sufficiently skilled artist to match her style comes along, we will work with him/her as well. Because of that, feel free to continue sending art. If we really like what you do, and if you display the ability to be flexible with styles, we will bring you along. P.S.: It is also important to note that while this first stage will be mostly dominated by her style, you do not have to exactly copy it to be brought along. The game's aesthetics will evolve as new artists are brought along, but we will always try to keep in line with the groundwork being laid out as we speak.
