This is a thread for users to create and discuss possible events to be submitted for the game, where an event is something that occurs upon the player entering a tile or upon completing some action within a tile. These can be set to a specific tile to always happen or can be random events in the field. To be clear, most of these are NOT combat encounters in the normal sense, but things that cause the player to react and interact with the world around them.
My first event is for inside the main city, where the player begins their journey. At some point while they're gallivanting about, getting fatter and such, they find themselves standing before a merchant. This man, a hyena, laughs uproariously as the player passes, causing them to turn to the source of the sound. As the player looks at him, they find themselves looking at an almost anorexic fur, with little or no fat to him. Obviously, in a world where everything is trying to fatten you up, this is a bit odd. The player at this point as two options, talk or walk away. We'll assume they talk. If they walk, they simply leave with his laughter chasing them away.
If the player talks to the man, they learn quickly that he is a shopkeeper, but he doesn't trade in gold. He trades in fat. He's willing to give the player a number of things for their hard earned padding. Trinkets, baubles, spells. He won't sell armour or weapons, and he won't buy anything to give fat back. We assume the player finds an item of their liking, and agrees to pay X fat for it. The hyena laughs uproarously again, simply raising a hand to the players belly. With a sickly green glow, the players form grows less rotund and soft, while the hyena pulses fatter and stronger, until he appears pleasantly plump. He grins toothfully and bids the player a good day.
Ideally this trader would only appear once in a while, with a randomized selection of items. That can be a bit hard to implement, so I'd just say for now that he has a rotation on where he shows up (Tile 1, then Tile 8, then...), and his inventory is based on RNG, if possible. I'll make up a selection of interesting items in a separate thread, but likely they'll all involve fat, voracity, or movement enhancers for those who are... drawn to immobile sizes.

Another idea for the main city, and perhaps a repeatable one. The city was hit relatively recently with the curse/plague, so most of the residents have not adjusted their demeanor to their new waistlines. This means that while their weight and hungers are burgeoning, they will still be in their old ways of thinking. At least at first. To celebrate the prosperity of their lands, the city government often holds feasts, where any and all may make merry and enjoy a day of rest from the usual work around town and in the farms. Before, this was a simple celebration once every cycle of the moon, and it was a rather plain affair, simply a day of rest with some good food.
Not so much these days. With food pouring into the city from every direction, and with more and more ease as the days go by, the festival starts being called more and more often, and now there is a feast on every seventh day. The feast itself has changed too, with the monstrous appetites of the denizens meeting the equally monstrous array of food that has appeared around their city. Tables groan and bend as they are loaded with hundreds of pounds of meats, grains, and vegetables, the smallest servings of which are the size of an average fur's head. There has also been a competition of late, as cooks have been in high demand due to recent events. The two most prevalent of cooks are Saecivi, a monstrously large winter wolf from the mountains. He seems to prefer to glut his wards with massive amounts of food, leaving them in a food coma within minutes, bellies distended with his signature broth. The other is Simestra, a rotund panther from the forest. In constrast to Saecivi, Simestra prefers to draw out the experience of those she serves, dragging their appetites out as she brings out perfectly crafted delights. The end result of this is a very satisfied and dazed customer, their palates ablaze with the memory of the experience.
These two chefs come head to head in the feast every week, always seeking to outdo each other in their methods, and they have taken to hiring assistant chefs and taste testers for their foods, though one could say that Saecivi is really only hiring containers to store his food in, given that his only improvements is being able to stuff more food into his customer than before. How he has done this is unknown, though it's rumoured that he has taken to an old magic to cause his customers capacities to increase significantly.
This event is really just a periodic one that takes place in the city. The player can choose one of four options at first; to cook with or taste test for Saecivi or Simestra. The player would be prompted for a series of choices as the event goes on, such as what they choose to eat (if taste testing) or to cook (if cooking). One could test a variety of primary attributes for these, as cooks are paid by the quality of their dishes and taste testers are paid on how much they eat and how well they can criticize the dish. If there is a cooking skill/perk, I could see the player partnering with one of the two cooks in a quest to beat the other once and for all, earning an item and maybe a perk of some kind based on their cooking style. Otherwise I could see the player joining the competition themselves once they have cooked X amount of times, or become a gourmet after taste testing X amount of times, each of which could spin off into quests.

Really like these ideas. The last part probably won't be possible though. Something like cooking is most likely not something that will happen. We could still use this idea as a base for something else though.

Great idea, in a growing world such as this the feast could become more and more popular to possibly become the main attraction of the city. A repeatable one such as this could also become more diverse and difficult to compete in as the once petite furs who were naive in the art of eating/feasting grow in both weight and appetite every week, forcing the player to improve and adapt if they don't wanna feel as powerless compared to the other behemoths across the table, as well as keeping things fresh and interesting.
