Hello people of the interwebs,
You might not know me but I want to know you!
I am the official manager for the Bane of Gluttony project, and will be working along with Kazan to bring about fatty goodness to this humble cyber hearth. My job here will be making sure that you have all you need to work, and that everybody works together like a well oiled machine going at 200 Km/h on a Colorado highway. In the following post, you will find all you need to know about working on this project. On a separate thread in the game design thread, you will find all you need to know about the game itself.
But you might just have stumbled upon here and might be wondering:
Q.: What the heck is going on here?!
A.: Well, it seems you just entered a forum focused on the development of a game called Bane of Gluttony, sir. Might I take you to your seat?
Q.: What is the game?
A.: Here's the demo! It is a text adventure game. A fat fetish text adventure. In the game you will get into the shoes of a unique adventurer, who will face dangerous enemies and devious trials in order to save the world from a curse of overwhelming abundance. Will you maintain your restrain, or will you fall from grace along the way?(We both know which we would prefer)
Q.: What is the main focus of the game?
A.: As in most RPGs, you will spend most of your time solving other people’s problems, killing monsters, and gaining loot. As in most fat fetish games, everything you do from questing to leveling will involve expansion in some way, and of course, gaining weight. Our game features not only weight gain, we plan to include various other kinds of expansion, such as vore, inflation and macro/micro.
Q.: Is this a fapping game?
A.: Kinda, yeah. But mostly it depends. With BoG we plan on making a game that not only satisfies that original intent, but also brings about some great content along the way.
Q.: Why create this game?
A.: Because we can.™
Q.: What makes this game different from other fatty text adventures out there?
A.: First and foremost, we plan to have a very heavy focus on the narrative aspects of our game world. Since we have a constant world map, players can explore and get to know a world that won’t change every time they load the game. With time, areas will develop their own personalities and peculiarities, and will become unique to the world we created for people to live in. Besides that, our game will have a few innovative features that set it apart from others of it’s kind. I invite all interested to head to the game development forum and have a look at our design document so they can judge for themselves.
And last but not least, this game is a community project, and we invite anyone interested to join our humble team and start creating content for the game, be it written, illustrated or just a great game design idea.
Q.: Why would I want to be part of this project?
A.: If you ever felt a lack of games of this kind, this is your chance to take part in the success of one. By opening the doors for people of the community to help create the game we want to take most of the burden and privilege of creating a game from a single person, and handing it over to the consumers. If you join our project, you will not only be helping something you like along, but will also be gifting hundreds of players to come with a great experience. Also, getting forever immortalized in the credits of a video game is kinda nice as well. Not to mention getting your very own cameo in the game, should you want one that is.
Now that we got the main questions over with, time to talk about the nitty gritty of how the project is actually going to work.
If you want to be part of the project, please fill this form with your areas of expertise and the areas you have interest in participating on the game’s development. Remember to fill in some kind of contact information so that we can get in touch with you outside the forum if ever necessary. Please do not do this if you have already submitted a form to us in the past!
After that is done, we will review your application and you will be officially added to the team list. After that you will be able to send content to any of our weekly missions. We will mostly be asking you to write events, items and descriptions, as well as do art and graphic design. Not all submitted content will be added to the game, but fret not, if your content was refused we will be in touch with you to help it get along to a state where it can be included. We really want your help!
Besides doing art and writing, all of you are also invited to take part in our game design forum, and share and discuss ideas of how to improve the game moving forward. All ideas will be heavily scrutinized by Kazan and me, and we will always be looking for well founded and grounded content to add to the game.
Finally, all of you who submitted accepted content will of course be added into the game credits, because one must give praise where it is due!
I really hope we can get a chance to work together. See you in the game!
